“But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ…each part is working properly, promotes the body’s growth in building itself up in love.”
Ephesians 4:15-16

As we kick off our campaign for Stewardship 2024, we reflect upon a busy yet productive two-thirds of 2023. This year saw the completion of our building expansion, our rector’s retirement, and our choir’s pilgrimage to Exeter, among other events.

If you recall, for our 2023 Stewardship Campaign, our theme was “Come Grow with Us,” inviting all members and friends of COHS to be an integral part of the growth of our many ministries, our building, and our stewardship.

Our 2024 Stewardship Campaign theme is “Growing and Expanding in Love,” recognizing our desire to continue our spiritual growth and expand through outreach, not just in our building addition but also in our community.

Church of the Holy Spirit continues to offer hope, love, service, and care well beyond the walls of our church building. The generous contributions of time, talents, and treasures of COHS members and friends make it possible for us to continue to grow and expand, spreading God’s love to people near and far.

Stewardship in the Episcopal Church is “our personal response to God’s generosity in the way we share our resources of time, talent, and money.” Parish members are encouraged to make an annual stewardship pledge. Please prayerfully commit to joining this holy endeavor through your pledge and ongoing financial support.

Your financial pledge allows us to budget for expenses incurred throughout the year, including salaries and benefits, pastoral support, worship, music, utilities, snow and trash removal, outreach, Christian education, office supplies and equipment, technology, communications, lawn care, property insurance, liability insurance, and maintenance of our building and grounds. As you know, in 2023, your pledge allowed us to begin making the mortgage payments on our building addition, including a parish hall, new kitchen, new bathrooms, and additional classrooms.

So, what does it mean to pledge? A financial pledge is a weekly, monthly, or other regular financial commitment that each of us makes to support the ministries of the Church of the Holy Spirit. The pledges and donations from COHS members and friends are our sole sources of income. Like you, COHS needs to know how much money we will receive each year to prepare our budget, pay our staff and bills, and respond to unexpected changes.

All of us are God's servants, working together, who plant and water, build and sustain our faith community. Your pledge is vital to the ministries at COHS and is a faithful, hope-filled response to God’s call for us to follow Jesus Christ for the whole of our lives.

We ask that you prayerfully consider pledging for 2024 and continue “Growing and Expanding in Love.”
