Our Next Steps …
We are continuing to offer information on the next two committees that will be formed to do the important work of transition here at Church of the Holy Spirit. Parish Profile and Search committees are chosen to represent major constituencies within a parish community. They will be working with Rev. Barbara Abbott, a trained diocesan consultant, who will be assisting and guiding them with the profile and search process.
Committee information:
Parish Profile Committee - The Parish profile committee is the committee that will be given the initial task of defining who the parish is and what kind of leadership they need. This is done by prayerfully gathering and harvesting information from the keep stakeholders – parishioners. They work with the vestry in respect to using some of the vision type work the vestry would have been doing over the years to ensure that is incorporated. They look at where we have been (history), where we are now (liturgically, financially, spiritually etc.) and where God might be calling us next (future, vision, growth). This information forms and creates the Parish Profile that will be published.

10-11-23 Message from Profile Committee: The Profile Committee has met now both in person and via Zoom, held Visioning sessions in several venues and have begun the process of writing a visual document outlining who we are and who we are looking for in our next rector. Your feedback has been distilled into six areas of importance to our congregation. These are hospitality, teaching, beauty, spirituality, pastoral care, and outreach.
Individuals on the committee have selected areas they can address in a meaningful way and will write a narrative about it. We know we are gifted by the leadership of the Holy Spirit and the Rev. Barbara Abbott. We are excited to be involved in this spirit-filled journey. We will keep you updated as we go forward.

Search Committee - A group charged with identifying candidates for the position of rector. It is often the responsibility of the search committee to review applications, supporting documents, and references; to interview applicants; and to recommend one "finalist" to the vestry charged with final responsibility for the selection or appointment.
